Rizwan Bashir, MD


Rizwan Bashir, MD received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and completed his Neurology residency training at the University of Miami. He subsequently completed a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship with combined focus in Epilepsy and Neuromuscular medicine (EEG/EMG) at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

After completing his training, he became an integral part of the neurology program at Northside Hospital Gwinnett and Northside Hospital Duluth. Dr. Bashir also serves as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency program. 

At the Concussion Institute, Dr. Bashir sees patients from adolescent to current and former professional athletes. As part of a multidisciplinary team, he helps guide care from pre-injury baseline testing, post-concussion management, return to play/work decisions, and counseling regarding head injuries, including risks for long-term side effects. 

He is married with two children, and enjoys sports and the outdoors in his spare time.
