James Williams

Head Athletic Trainer, Georgia Gwinnett College

James earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia in Exercise & Sports Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. He then went on to receive his Master’s degree in Administration of Higher Education with a minor in Sport Management at Auburn University.

While at Auburn, Williams spent two years as a graduate assistant before being promoted to assistant athletic trainer for the football team. He eventually became the head athletic trainer for the basketball team.

After Auburn, Williams oversaw daily athletic training operations as the head athletic trainer for Indiana State University’s football team. Soon after, he was hired by the NFL’s Cleveland Browns and then the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent a combined five years.

Williams now serves with Gwinnett Medical Center’s Sports Medicine Program as the head athletic trainer for Georgia Gwinnett College.
