Certified Athletic Trainers

Gwinnett Medical Center provides full-time certified athletic trainers (ATCs) at 12 local high schools:

  • Central Gwinnett
  • Chattahoochee
  • Berkmar
  • Brookwood
  • Duluth
  • Hebron
  • Johns Creek
  • Mill Creek
  • Mountain View
  • Norcross
  • Northview 
  • Peachtree Ridge
  • Providence Christian Academy

The ATCs work closely with high school coaches and the Gwinnett Medical Center affiliated team physicians to prevent, manage and assess orthopedic or musculoskeletal injuries and to facilitate access to medical care. In addition, a Gwinnett Medical Center athletic trainer also provides coverage for the Gwinnett Gladiators, the Georgia Force and Gwinnett County’s recreational hockey leagues.

The Athletic Training Services Program
Our program delivers traditional sports medicine services under the direction of the Gwinnett Medical Center affiliated physicians. We also have contracts for private EMS and emergency transport, emergency action plans for athletic venues, access processes with the GMC emergency and imaging departments, and facilitate access to necessary support services. This unique system provides access to expedited and specialized care while supporting the ongoing needs athletes may require.
